Dear fellow worldenators, the Mod.io, Better Painting, Resource Packs, World Naming, Beep Boopenating, Decoration Blocks, Doors, Better Trees, Foliage, New Launcher, Splash Texts Bloat Major Update is here!
Hellow once again everyone, we hope you’ve enjoyed the Wonderful World update for the past few months, but today we’ve got some of the craziest new content to showcase.
To make modding a lot easier and way better, we decided to move over to Mod.io rather than Github! This allows people to contribute mods way easier than ever before, without pull requests or hard work!
Another thing you may notice in that picture is both the Launcher World & the Resource Pack template, that's right... Hellow World now has World Sharing & Resource Packs! World Sharing has almost always been a thing via a channel in our Discord Server, but now that makes it to everyone via Mod.io! World Sharing isn't the only thing on Mod.io, we now have Resource Packs which people can use to put their own twist on the game!
The Painting System in 0.3.1 wasn't really the greatest, the game was never meant for items and getting the colors was very tedious to do, so we decided to scrap it and make actual textures for each paintable block, this included adding over 500 blocks to the game for Connected Textures and of course 3 shades of each color.
We don't really have any resource packs right now so there isn't much to show, but we can't wait to see what you worldenators do to make the game more yours then ever before! (Skins might come soon, but for now the skin can be edited with resource packs!)
What, World Names? Since when! SINCE NOW HAHAHAHAAAA- Ok man I should stop drinking so much coffee, anyways along with Deleting worlds, you can also name them! Plus, the max amount of worlds got doubled from 8 to 16, oh and also, we have world sizes!
Meet the Beep Boopinator! This is a brand new Map Creation Tool to force disable Build Mode in Worlds, but don't worry! You can toggle the block by right clicking it in or out of Build Mode.
We've added a ton of requested and unrequested blocks to give Hellow World even more variety and better looks! These blocks vary from Fences to Bricks to bringing back but expanding Transition Blocks!
One of the most requested features in our feedback tracker is Doors, and while our initial implementation couldn't work, we decided to change it around and do it a bit better. Doors do have collision when they're in the closed position and when they open they lost their collision as expected!
Here is a map view of the world, notice anything different? The trees! That's right, 6 new trees and a new wood type have been added to the game, making the world way more varied!
Another thing to go along with better trees, is grass and flowers! Very pretty.
One very important thing, integral to the game itself is the Launcher. Without the Launcher, the game won't even start! We've had trouble in the past because if we wanted to update the launcher, people would have to download the new one if they wanted a local copy. Instead, we managed to make the launcher auto updating, and made it more modular for future titles like Freedrive: Moonlight Enhanced!
We've added Splash Texts to the game, there's got to be at least 100 or more of them! Thanks Hurhumi, we miss you!
That seems to me to be the end of this update, we truly hope you enjoy and we cannot wait to see what you create! ❤️
