Dear fellow worldenators, a very small Branding & License update has been released.
Hellow once again everyone, we hope you’ve enjoyed the Bloat major update for the past 8 months, we know things are going slow and we promise that stuff will happen soon, but unfortunately there is some bad news.
As we add more and more to Hellow World, the game gets laggier and laggier, and we think we're at the point where this lag cannot be avoided, even with heavy optimizations, and that it is the limitations of the tool we use to build the game rather than the game itself. With that, we've decided that with Major Update a0.5.0, Hellow World will be considered complete, and our efforts to porting the game to the Godot Engine will be our main focus.
A little sneak peek at the final update, a0.5.0 completely reworked how tiles are saved/loaded, tiles are now stored with their tile ID instead of their numeric ID. (This change unfortunately caused significantly increased loading times), also the game now uses Perlin Noise for terrain and caves, resulting in a way nicer shape!
That seems to me to be the end of this update, we truly hope you enjoy and we cannot wait to see what you create! ❤️
